Material Girl
I’m so excited! This Saturday I will sign the lease on my very own apartment! YAY!!! In addition to the freedom of having my own place, I am very much looking forward to reducing one bill from my monthly schedule: my storage unit. For 5 years I’ve stored an apartment’s worth of belongings, thinking when I moved down during my divorce that it wouldn’t be long before I moved out of my parents’ house. Ha. Anyway, soon that $100+/month bill will be eliminated. But of all the things I stored in there, I’m missing a few key things.
The most important things I need as soon as I move in:
- Refrigerator
- Microwave
- Vacuum
- Step stool
- Bath mat
- Floor lamps for 1 bedroom and living room
- Upright clothes steamer
- Space-creating shelves for kitchen cabinets
And things that I want but don’t need right away:
- Couch
- Dining Table + 2-4 chairs
- Mirrors for both my bedrooms
- Over-the-door organizers for bathroom and pantry
- Patio chair(s)
- Coffee maker
- Toaster
- Blender
I’m scouring Craig’s List, thrift shops and folks in my church for any gently-used versions of these items (except the bath mat: eww!). If you happen to live in Central-to-North Orange County and have an item in the above lists that you wouldn’t mind either donating or selling for cheap, I’d be much appreciative! If not, that’s fine. This is more of a list of things for me to remember; I don’t have to worry about losing my list in the move. ![]()
Don’t click this. Really. Don’t. Okay fine. You asked for it. Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
