Thoughts – November 6, 2011

Joshua 24:1-25

You always have a choice. Your beliefs and your convictions are always yours to be chosen. You can choose to see what is right in front of you, or you can choose to turn a blind eye. You can choose to change something you don’t like, or you can choose to avoid it. You have the option of sharing your news with the world or you can choose to hold it all in. You can choose to listen to the person talking to you or you can choose to tune out and start forming your own thoughts that you are so ready to push upon that person. You can choose to do the right thing or you can decide that it’s no one’s business what you’re doing.

You have the freedom to choose what you believe. You can believe in creationism, evolution, both creationism AND evolution, matrixism… It is YOUR choice to believe or not believe. You can choose in whom to believe, you can choose in WHAT to believe.

And you have the freedom to change your mind. You have the freedom to make a different choice every day of your life. You are not stuck with chocolate ice cream just because you chose it once before. You can choose to take control of your life, or you can choose to let life control you. You can choose to spend your energy on anger, or you can choose to let it slide off your back and spend your energy on something that makes you happy.

You can choose to do things that will nourish your soul and spirit. You can choose to seek out those things that make you truly happy inside. You can choose to help those less fortunate around you. You can choose to surround yourself with people who make you stronger. You can choose to spread the good news to those around you who need to hear it. You can choose to have faith in humanity. You can choose to have faith in something bigger than you.

Or not.

It’s your choice.
